9th Annual Women’s Ride
Description: Each summer the Bicycle Coalition of Maine hosts the Women’s Ride, along scenic routes in southern coastal Maine. This all-women ride offers something for riders of all levels. The 5 and 15 mile options provide a great opportunity for those who haven’t ridden bikes since childhood to rediscover the health benefits — and fun — of bicycling. The 25 and 50 mile routes give more seasoned cyclists the chance to go north along Merrymeeting Bay to the Brunswick area and down the Harpswell peninsula, before returning to Freeport for massage, yoga, food and celebration on the LL Bean campus. Proceeds from the Women’s Ride support the Bicycle Coalition’s education mission of teaching bike safety to schoolchildren across Maine.
