Charming Memories – Remember Your Ride
“Jewelry is made with a sentimental component.” – Kelly Anne
Cycle and Style has once again found unique pieces of jewelry for the fans of our site. “I like pieces that are meaningful to the wearer or remind them of something or someone important,” says Kelly Anne. We love Kelly Anne’s story and her “I Can” attitude!!Kelly Anne has been involved in jewelry making for about 6 years now. Check out her etsy site and all of the beautiful creations. Kelly Anne walked into a local bead store to buy supplies for some beaded bookmarks and saw so many possibilities. She began by learning basic wire wrapping and then took classes to learn other skills. Kelly Anne is always reading books and getting her inspiration from just about everything which lead me to the question that I just had to know …
Why the “bike” theme jewelry?
“The first cycling themed piece I made was actually for myself when I was training to do my first big ride. It was a necklace with a silver bike charm and a tag that reads “I Can.” It also has a blue amazonite bead which is said to represent courage. It was just a personal reminder of my goal. After that ride, I was hooked on biking, and just started making other pieces for my cycling friends.”

Kelly Anne used her jewelry to motivate that “CAN-DO” attitude within herself to make it through that first ride, after that she was hooked.
She claims that she is not an avid cyclist, but to C&S, Kelly Anne is just that: a cyclist to inspire all of us. She says that she is not fast, competitive or even super fit but as she says, “I love the way I feel on my bike” and she rides at least 4 times a week.
She registers for as many organized rides, especially the women only rides, as her schedule permits, saying that she “loves” the energy at those events. (I would have to agree after attending my first women’s only ride last year – The Goldilocks Ride in Herriman, UT.) “It’s all about fun and supporting each other no matter your level…. everyone can!!”

Beautiful work!!!
My husband “encouraged” me to try mountain biking, lol. I had issues with motion sickness and so I rode queasy for about a month til I got used to cycling. NOW 3 yrs later, I own a mountain bike and a road bike. I love cycling so much now that I ride for my errands, ride with the local bike group(still the slowest), ride with my daughters, and we’re planning a 2600 mile tour going from Bar Harbor, Me to Key west, Fl in Sept ’11. Tabatha
my family got me hooked on mountain biking a few years ago and now we have started road biking.
Thank for the chance to win.

I got hooked on cycling as a way to get fit and releive stress. I also commute to work so save gas and frustration on the roads. Been riding what seems like forever and jsut feel so much better about everything when I ride. I even moved to New Zealand to ride over here. I live in Christchurch and just love the riding here. If you ever want a great place to ride come to New Zealand south island. Lots of beautiful scenery and wonderful riding.
I got hooked on cycling when I realized that it was something that my husband and I could do together and both enjoy it. I rode my first century 2 years ago and fell in love with my bike while training!
Last June, a friend asked me to join her and sign up for a fund raiser. My first ride was a 30 mile Tour de Cure fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association. It was a challenge for me and I had a blast. I get to be fit while helping others. I am doing it again this year and have a goal to do a century ride in the future. I am hooked!! Kim O. from Charlton, MA
My sister in law asked me to ride in the first Goldilocks ride last year, and now I’m hooked and loving it!
I had a reluctant mandatory job relocation from Arizona and moved to the top hills of Rosecrest area of Herriman, Utah. Looking out of my livingroom windows, I am afforded the views of neighbors getting in shape by either jogging or cycling. Their actions were gnawing on me as I knew I had to get my act together-give up smoking, get in shape and get involved with this community starting with Goldilocks. Yes, I had to push myself out the door with courage and embrace what cycling can offer me-a spoke anchored with friends, health, freedom, wind in my hair and the sun on my face to make me smile. I can truly enjoy the ride.
I love indoor cycle, I actually got hooked when the place I work needed a sub and I filled in for her. I am now teaching 3-4 classes a week, I plan on getting my own outdoor bike and hitting the trail!!!
I love your jewelry, it is so motivating, I Can & DO Enjoy the ride!!!! :~)
I started spin classes at the gym and loved it and decided I would get a bike for outside riding; went on a womans-only 4-day bike tour last year and am planning another 6-day tour in Sept. At 63 I am having fun and trying to keep as young as I feel!
I have enjoyed cycling for as long as I can remember. My first bike was a yellow banana seat cruiser that I loved riding all over our little town on. As I got older I upgraded to mountain biking and have always enjoyed it. I love the freedom that comes from getting out and going for a ride, no one can stop me.
My friend asked me to try a triathlon. I needed to add biking to my running schedule. I went out on my first ride with her and we had so much fun. I had to go out and by a road bike. I love riding.
I think that’s great that you have designed cute bike jewelry for us cycling enthusiast. There is a need for more cycling jewelry and cute clothing for women. I love cycling! It’s the a healthy life style. It’s the best way to get from one place to another and it’s the best way to enjoy any city or destination. We love traveling and we love to rent bikes to tour each city we visit.
I hadn’t riden a bike since I was a kid until a hip injury sidelined me from running. I had lost some weight and gotten active again after having my daughter and I was determined to keep doing something. I borrowed a friends bike for a couple of weeks to see if I liked it before pouring $$ into my own. I knew the first time I got on her bike I’d love it and two years later I’m still loving it. Even though my hip is better I still ride much more than I run!
I hadn’t been on my bike for years but started up again last summer and loved it! Last fall, I bought a new bike and a trainer so I was able to ride inside all winter. Now I’m ready to hit the road. I ALWAYS enjoy the ride.
My boyfriend got me hooked on mountain biking. I love it because it gives me a sense of freedom and peace of mind. Thank you for the opportunity..
When I was 10 my parents made me ride my bike 2 miles a day for 30 days in order to earn a pet cat (there way of encouraging me to be more active). Once I got the cat, I sold the bike. My husband bought me a mountain bike for Christmas 3 weeks after I got pregnant with our first child….that bike did not get ridden very much. Then last spring he found me a fabulous used road bike and it is my new best friend. I love it. Going to do my first century this summer. Kansas roads can be a bit boring, but with miles of straight roads and the wind at your back, you can fly!
I started riding as an adult once again when I got married. It just made so much more sense than walking. My husband’s uncle had a couple of abandoned clunkers in his garage and gave them to us this was about ten years ago. Now ten years later our collection has grown and so has my love for anything that has to do with riding it has made me a better person in every way I consider myself privlidged every time I get on my bike and ride. I could never imagine my life without a bicycle.
Cycling reminds me that I am always capable of more than I think!
I’m one week away from my first road race. I’m nervous, scared and worried… but so many ladies around me are getting hooked on biking. I need something to keep me in shape and outside! I love the biker chick jewelry! Kelly Annie you ROCK!
I started getting into biking to do something my husband liked…now i do it because its AWESOME! doing Goldilocks next week for the first time! Kelly Annie your jewelry rocks!!
