Our Valentine’s Day Give-Away!

Valentine’s Day Surprises for the Cyclist!

For our readers just in time, here’s a little love from ChicoBag  and Cycle & Style! ChicoBag gave us two great compact, reusable bags made of recycled content to use (instead of a plastic grocery bag) over and over again—and decorated to show your love for the earth (and cycling!). We’ve fillled both of these bags: the ChicoBag Recycle Heart Bag and the ChicoBag Conversation Heart Bag with an assortment of cycling and winter goodies for the female cyclist! We’d like to send it out to two of our readers just in time for Valentine’s Day! (See our very basic contest entry rules below and the photo above is of the two ChicoBags we are giving away, already filled with fun things!)

At the Outdoor Retailer Show last week, ChicoBag showed us their new Duffel bag which stuffs down into its own pouch. It’s perfect for an overnight outing, international adventure or to keep at work for that lunch-hour trip to the gym. We are loving what ChicoBags is doing in promoting the use of compact, reusable bags and packs, and how it eliminates the single-use bag habit with its new products and initiatives. Here’s some of our photos showing the new versatile Duffel bag, which will be available for pre-order from ChicoBag on February 1st! (Retail price will be $39.99)

The Duffel rePETe was developed with a world traveler in mind. A compact, lightweight duffel made from 86 percent recycled content and available in five vibrant colors. The new bags stuff down into the front zipper pocket and include carabiners, so they can be easily tossed into a suitcase or clipped onto other luggage. We love ChicoBag's Dufflebag for use as quick get-away-to-the gym bag!

Valentine’s Day Give-Away from ChicoBag & Cycle & Style-

We’d like you to be able to enjoy this fun Valentine’s surprise by February 14th, so the contest will run just  until February 9th! Good luck!

  1. What don’t I love about cycling??? Cycling has done so much for me since I started. I love cycle as a way to clear my head when I’m feeling especially stressed with work and grad school. I love that it has taught me to really think about my health and the foods that I eat. It has also been a fun activity to become closer to my boyfriends family!

  2. I LOVE my bicycle!! My boyfriend spent a great deal of time finding every part and building my bike so that it would be completely perfect for me, and it is! It’s sexy, fast, comfortable, and makes me feel great about myself. AND helps me stay fit.

I sometimes even write blog entries about my awesome bicycle. Here is one: http://redwineinanalgene.blogspot.com/2010/11/bicycle-thy-name-is.html

    :)

  3. Wow… this answer could get reaaaaally long quickly, so I’m going blog-short-bullets! I love cycling for:
    - the friends I’d never have otherwise met
    - the amazing places I’ve had the opportunity to ride
    - empowering me to feel like an athlete for the first time ever
    - giving me an escape when I need it

  4. I love my bikes (plural!) because they’re relatively inexpensive, I can fix them myself, and at need, I can even pick one up and carry it. :) You can have different bikes for different purposes and STILL spend less than a car.

And it makes me feel virtuous to ride instead of drive.

  5. I love cycling because it is good for the planet and good for me! It is a great way to get some “me” time to think and to enjoy my surroundings. Cycling is challenging but fun.

  6. My favorite part of biking is the fact that my hubs and I do it together. We have been married over three years and when we are biking we act like silly teenagers dating. Thanks for the contest!

  7. One of the things I love best about cycling is that it has taught me that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought possible. It gives me strength, energy and most importantly my sanity.

  8. I love bicycling because of the view of the land and the smells. The soreness of my legs from climbing that hill, and the soreness on my face from smiling as I fly down. I love the history of the bicycle and what it has done for women. Cycling has allowed me to meet people who have shared my love and who have listened to my love of the cycle and also become enthusiast. I keep my mementos from all my rides and adventures up on my walls to be seen daily on how much I love my bikes.

  9. I started cycling because my boyfriend (who I live 1600 miles from while we’re finishing our PhDs) was getting into biking with his friends and I didn’t want to be left behind. But I’ve since biked way more than him (to the tune of 1400 miles more in 7 months)! I love the self-confidence cycling has given me and how I feel better about myself and my body than I ever have in my life. I love that this is a healthy habit I can keep up my whole life and that it’s something that we’ll be able to share when we’re finally living in the same place again.

  10. I love cycling because it frees my inner child. Whether climbing a winding dirt trail or flying down a steep canyon, it is an excitement only found on two wheels!

  11. I love cycling because it is when I feel alive and it is my passion. When I cycle to and from work and then go for long rides on the weekend I feel alive and in love with life. I live to ride.

  12. Riding a bike has given me freedom and awareness of the world around me. I feel so in tune with the landscape and the climate and have been able to start sharing that with my 1 year old as he rides in the trailer behind me. I rode my bike from Canada to Mexico along the Great Divide and was able to see sights that many people only dream of.

  13. Cycling is amazing, it represents independence, freedom, and flexibility to help you become that strong, independent woman! It makes me glow and makes me giggle :)

  14. I started cycling with my dad and I still love going on rides with him when I’m home. I also love getting around my college campus on my bike. It makes things a lot easier and fun.

  15. LOVE biking! I ride to class, the store, or just around the neighborhood! It is my “stress reduction therapy” and the added plus is I can burn calories while doing it! Nothing better than hopping on a bike after a long day!

  16. I love being outside and the sense of freedom it gives me!

  17. I love my bicycle because I love the rhythm of my legs moving and my wheels turning. The time I spend on my bike is my ME time. Besides enjoying the world around me, I can think and dream and refresh both my body and my mind.

  18. I love my bikes. They provide me a freedom to go anywhere I want and get some exercise. Its a refreshing way to feel wind in your face!

Riding my bike with my girlfriends is the best! Pushing my self farther each time I ride is the most satisfying feeling.

Is it bad that I love our bike rides on the local bike path better than any other as we always cycle to the ice cream store and back? That’s is my guilty secret.

  21. I love everything about it! Being healthy, going places with friends, exploring new places – and stopping for ice cream on hot days in the summer ;)

  22. I love riding my bike downhill on a day when the air temperature and my skin temperature are the same. Ain’t happening right now, though-in the cold basement, on the trainer, feeling like it is all uphill. But I still love riding.

  23. I started road biking when I moved to Utah. I love it for the exercise and the scenery, and because it gives me the chance to catch up with my girlfriends for a few hours every weekend in the summer.

  24. I love biking, especially mountain biking. I’m lucky enough to live next to a forest that I guess not many people know about because I can be out there and not see anyone for miles and feel like I’m one with nature, just another one of the animals flying through the wilderness!

Cycling for me is not just a ride. It’s becoming a way of life. Feeling the wind in my face, the scenery I would otherwise just let pass me by. The uplifting confidence that comes from knowing I have accomplished a goal..one more mile, one more hill, one more uncharted path…

  26. I love that my husband bought me a bike for mothers day last year and he put pink accents on it for me!

  27. I just love pedaling away from home to enjoy the outdoors My Way. Cycling has added so much to my life…besides fitness and great calves!

  28. I love to ride my road bike and Mt.bike. Cycling exercises my mind and body at the same time…win win :)
