“Linking” the Bike Community with Jewelry
We love to be contacted by our readers, especially when they would like to share their creative and unique jewelry pieces with us and our readers. Deb Winkelman from Alaskabike reached out to Cycle and Style recently with just that!! Deb is a 2nd grade teacher who is always looking for creative ways to recycle materials. During the summer months, Deb and her husband guide bicycle tours (Alaskabike) throughout Alaska. She started making the chain link jewelry 5 years ago when she was looking for ways to recycle bicycle parts. Deb also wanted to add a feminine touch to women’s bicycle gear … and Cycle and Style would have to agree. ”It has been available to the customers on our Alaskabike tours and has just recently been available online”, she said. Each piece is uniquely made with colorful beads in a variety of patterns. Alaskabike jewelry looks great in all settings – work or play!!
Cycle and Style has had the opportunity to see Deb’s work up close. Her workmanship is beautiful. Each handmade piece is professionally done using unique beads, spacers and bicycle chain links with nice cording and fasteners. It’s even done using recycled materials … love that Deb!! They really are the perfect gift for the cyclist in your life. Like I always say, I love the unique jewelry and I am always in search of it!! How great was this find … Alaskabike jewelry (& Deb) found us!! THANKS DEB!!
It’s a must see … a must have!! Go check out Deb’s creations and let us know what you think!! You may just win a jewelry set from Deb’s Alaskabike Jewelry Collection for your jewelry box.
