There is an old belief that if you catch a leaf as it falls from the tree, you’ll have a day of good luck—a perfect day when the sun seems to be smiling down with especial affection for you!  I think there are some absolutely perfect days in autumn: amber sunshine-filled afternoons, rosy mornings that are crisp and cool and when the breezes blow, they send the leaves whirling to the ground. The hills and mountains here are already starting the fall show: leaves flecked with gold, crimson, orange or ginger can be seen in wide-swaths among the evergreens. The exhilaration of nature this time of year is contagious. It is the ultimate time for riding the trails with your friends and savoring these golden autumn days. Catch that lucky leaf and get out your bicycle and go! The days aren’t getting any longer!
